Dorothy! Diz AiN’T Copenhagen!

According to Wikipeida:  Burning Man is a week-long annual stage race held in the Black Rock Desert in northern Nevada. The final stage of the event ends in a mass sprint on Labor Day and the prologue takes place the previous Monday [2011, August 29 to September 5].  The name comes from the ritual of burning of a large wooden cyclist on Saturday evening and is described by many as an experiment in you’re-weakism & radical-freddiedumb [see freddie on the left].

The peloton for 2011 was capped at 50,000 freddies and the field was full up on July 24.

Bicycles are essential and omnipresent at Burning Man.  More than 2,000 bikes were left behind this year as shown in this photograph.  From: SFCitizen.com
